Moussa left little room for ambiguity. He pressed the leadership of the presidential majority to step up preparations, calling for what he described as “a total obligation of results, not minimal, but total,” and a sweeping win secured in the first round.
His message framed the coming weeks as decisive. The instruction was practical rather than ceremonial: organise quickly, leave nothing to chance, and treat every department of the country as ground worth contesting.
The “Spider Strategy” Explained
Organisers gave their approach a name: the “spider strategy.” The idea is to weave a dense web of electoral coverage across Congo-Brazzaville, reaching constituencies in every corner rather than concentrating effort in a few strongholds.
In plain terms, it means building a tight network of local relays so that campaign activity is felt nationwide. The metaphor signals reach and coordination, two themes Moussa returned to throughout the meeting.
Record and Programme at the Centre
The pitch to voters rests on Sassou N’Guesso’s governance record and his stated programme. Moussa urged the team to convince the electorate through the candidate’s vision for society, presenting him as a figure who, in his words, “knows Congo, and Congo knows him.”
That framing doubles as a response to a familiar challenge: abstention. Moussa stressed the need to fight low turnout, arguing that persuasion, not complacency, would carry the day.
A Coordinated Headquarters
Anatole Collinet Makosso, deputy national director and campaign spokesperson, thanked Sassou N’Guesso for entrusting the responsibility to the team. His remarks underlined the chain of command guiding the effort.
The session closed with a tour of the various departments of the campaign headquarters, a gesture meant to lay the groundwork for coordinated mobilisation as the vote approaches (vox.cg).
