Brazzaville Gospel Night launches at Palais des Congrès
The Palais des Congrès in Brazzaville turned into a large worship hall for the first edition of the Gospel Night festival, held under the theme “A new start for Congolese youth.” The event drew a crowd looking for praise, adoration and spiritual renewal.
Ministry patronage and a strong network of partners
The festival was placed under the high patronage of the Ministry of Cultural Industry, Tourism, Arts and Leisure, reflecting the authorities’ support for cultural initiatives that bring communities together.
Organised by Nabemba Music production, the evening also relied on a group of partners, including the advertising agency Pactos and the events agency Light Event. Kal Beauty, Village Maya and the luxury apartment DS HOME were also cited among the supporting brands.
Headline guests bring an international and local touch
Three well-known figures carried the spirit of this debut edition. The organisers presented King David, described as coming from the United States, alongside Fr Rodrigue Obanda and gospel singer Clémence Avounou.
Their presence gave the night a tone that participants described as inspiring and forward-looking, with an emphasis on youth engagement and a message of renewal meant to resonate beyond the concert setting.
Artists and choirs set the tone for worship
On stage, invited artists delivered energetic performances, including Maman Crédo, Sr Lusline Lounianga, Sr Cœurcia and Sr Thola, alongside other gospel ministries announced for the programme.
Two choirs, from the Christian Assembly Terre promise and Céleste famille, added a strong collective voice. Their harmonies helped create an atmosphere focused on worship, reflection and shared faith.
A theatre scene highlights youth delinquency concerns
One of the night’s most talked-about sequences came from the theatre group of the Terre promise church. The troupe presented a striking scene denouncing juvenile delinquency.
By bringing a social message into an artistic performance, the segment aimed to spark awareness and encourage a change of direction for young people, in line with the festival’s central theme.
A cultural event framed as hope and continuity
For organisers and attendees, this first Gospel Night was presented as more than a concert. It was framed as a call to transformation, an expression of hope and a celebration of living faith.
Hosted by Merveil Tsiba, the evening also served as a foundation for what promoters see as a future fixture on Brazzaville’s cultural calendar, with expectations of growth in the editions to come.
